EAT THIS, NEIGHBOR COUNTRY..!! BATIK IS INDONESIAN..!!

2nd of October, UNESCO finally legalized BATIK as one of Indonesian Cultural Heritages!! Oh my God, if I was a Malaysian citizen of that neighbor country, I would be sooooo fuckin embarrassed of my own country for claiming another country's cultural heritage! HA-HA.

So today, most of Indonesian are wearing Batik. And I don't know whether it's true or not, but I do really feel like slapping that country while saying in the ghetto way *snapping*, "Eat this, you freaking tiny thing! Batik is Indonesian!!"

In my University, most of the students wore batik today, not because we were ordered to, but because we are proud of batik and our country for winning this. And when I got to another public places, I saw lots of people wearing batik too. And that, was one of the reasons why I kept smiling this entire day. Indonesia seems even brighter today and it looks like Indonesian are even more gorgeous and classy in Batik. :-)

Me & Uni friends, wearing Batik.

Okay I know lah, lots of people out there might think that Indonesian never cares about their own cultural heritage until another country claims their heritage as theirs, then Indonesian will say its actually theirs. But what I think is like this:

It's like you have a son. You don't go out with your son everysecond and tell everybody in this world that he is your son. You don't introduce your son to every single person in this world. But if a crazy and mentally sick person happened to kidnap your son and claimed that your son is his, then you would try the best you could to get your son back to your arms and claimed that he was yours.

Am I right?

Well, I hope Batik Day is not just for today. I hope it can be a national day, so people wear batik together every 2nd of October. And it would be really great.

And the another country keeps on claiming another Indonesian Cultural Heritages as theirs. Lemme tell you that it's pathetic. Claiming things that doesn't belong to you is stealing. It shows how lame they are, and they act as if THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY INTERESTING AND AMAZING CULTURAL HERITAGES LIKE INDONESIA.

I feel like nationalism of Indonesian has been amazingly increasing nowadays. There are lots of new organizations that increase Indonesian nationalism and motivate us to keep on loving our own country, such as Indonesian Youth Conference, IndonesiaUnite, and many more.

Well, we learn something today :

SOMETIMES, TO GET WHAT WE'RE SUPPOSED TO HAVE, WE'VE GOTTA LOSE IT FIRST.
Happy Batik Day, Indonesia!
